Early one summer evening in June of 1997, fourteen-year-old Ivana sets out on a bike ride from her parents to her aunt. A witness sees her halfway through the route. After this, Ivana is never seen again.
Usually when a child goes missing, the police publish a hypothesis on what happened to them. For Ivana, no official version exists, which makes her disappearance one of the most mysterious crime cases since the revolution. How can someone disappear without a trace in broad daylight? How does that affect the lives of the people this event impacted personally?
Documentarist Petr Hátle seeks answers to these questions in his eight-part crime podcast Missing. He explores the circumstances behind the girl’s disappearance and uncovers previously unpublished facts about the case.
