Northern Sea Route through the Arctic

For centuries, sailors have been trying to get from Europe to Asia past the Arctic ice. Because it would be a drastic shortcut. The melting of the ice increasingly clears the way for the Northern Sea Route. Thanks to climate change. Iceland already sees a great opportunity - and is planning a mega port to develop the Arctic on the Finnafjord.

With German know how: Port developer „Bremenports“ recognized the opportunities early on – planning for an container port for cargo ships is well advanced. Radio Bremen reporter Christian Schwalb travelled to Iceland, exactly where the port is to be built.
