When I used to be a tramp
The documentary, which starts with a determined trip to an exhibition “A century of tramping” turns more and more into a report on the actual process of searching and finding.
Instead of looking at the roots of the movement, the author explores his own roots and for a moment attempts to return to a time when he came into contact with tramping and wanted to become a tramp. Even though the theme of friendship and the desire for adventure is a part of the documentary, the tramp identity seems to disappear before the author’s eyes and the audio project in progress dissipates into seemingly disjointed parts. The theme of tramping comes up every once in a while, then disappears again. The only thing that remains are the friends and songs that can’t be forgotten.
The author therefore sets off on a journey of personal archeology in liquid sands. In the end, a unique radio product is created, which is not a documentary in the true sense of the word, but more of the so-called feature, a type of radio program in which real sound recordings are used, but the goal is not to create an “objectively true program”. Personal perspective of certain topic, respective perception of the reality of the author is crucial.
